DET Primary Learner Voice Council reps took part in our LVC Conference 2024

On 16th January we were thrilled to invite over 65 primary school students from across Danes Educational Trust to our second Primary Learner Voice Council Conference hosted by Jupiter Primary School.  It was a pleasure to work with our primary school students throughout the day: they showed pride in their schools, enthusiasm for progress and a maturity beyond their years.

Our exceptional DET colleagues Helen Cox, Nicola Spencer and Louise Wickenden delivered thought provoking sessions on character education, oracy and developing self confidence.  A huge thanks to impressive Croxley Danes students Isabella, Crystal and Amelia who delivered a remarkable teamwork session - they really demonstrated how far they've come since they started with the LVC - some of them four years ago.

The LVC programme is designed to give our learners the opportunity to take part in meaningful decision making at all levels of DET.  The LVC work with learners and staff across our schools, conducting cutting edge research and exploring how we can develop the learning experience for all.  It would not run successfully without our dedicated team of in-school facilitators Alii Hewitt, Emma Smart, Helen Hayhoe, Henry Arkill, Jamie-Lee Louw, Liz Black, Liz Shipp, Miles Conway, Mitchell Sanderson, Rebecca Edmonds and Sabeen Kazmi.
